As mentioned above, the concept behind Taboodia is Hoodia Gordonii. It is one of the many products on the market today that tries to brand the generic South African herb Hoodia Gordonii. There are actually many different forms of Hoodia, and among them, only pure South African Hoodia Gordonii has been shown to be the most effective appetite suppressant. The theory behind Taboodia is that appetite suppression by itself may lead to weight loss. However, we believe that an effective and long-term weight loss supplement should also contain ingredients that burn fat and provide energy.

Hoodia has taken the weight loss industry by storm after it made an appearance in a 2004 CBS 60 Minutes special. Hoodia contains a unique molecule known as P57. This molecule is believed to act on the hypothalamus to make people feel full. Scientists maintain that Hoodia may increase energy and provide a greater sense of well-being.
Taboodia claims to be “the only 24-hour weight loss system.” However, the “system” is comprised of two formulas, as mentioned above. The AM formula seems to contain Hoodia and Green Tea, while the PM formula seems to include Hoodia, Vitamin B and Apple Cider Vinegar. However, the official website does not list these ingredients; therefore, we could not officially verify whether these formulas contain anything besides Hoodia.
While Hoodia has been shown to be a powerful appetite suppressant, supplements require much more than just hunger-calming effects. This may be why Taboodia did not make the cut for this site’s $1000 customer giveaway program in which individuals may take the top diet products on the market and provide before and after pictures of their success in order to receive a cash award. Only the best of the best were selected for this giveaway, so we feel that Taboodia leaves something to be desired when it comes to results, customer service or safety.

Taboodia has its own domain name registered, which may be seen as a positive marketing technique. However, it is manufactured by Tabolife LLC, which also promotes another weight loss supplement called Tabolizer™. At this time, the website does not post testimonials, nor does it list the ingredients for this product. The design is minimal and could have benefitted from a FAQ section clearly disclosing the corporate and customer service information.

Taboodia may stand out from the crowd, at least in the sense that it contains pure Hoodia Gordonii. However, interestingly enough, it does not offer any proven fat burners. Furthermore, the manufacturer, Tabolife LLC, as noted above, promotes another weight loss supplement that contains Advantra-Z®, a proven fat burner. Therefore, we think it may be justifiable that Taboodia was not chosen to be a part of the $1000 cash giveaway program on this site.
While customers may find several formulas that make big claims, we believe that an effective weight loss or health-regulating formula should not rely only on a single ingredient, especially when it is only an appetite suppressant. There are many products on the market that have popular energy boosters like L-Carnosine that are combined with a patented fat burner like, for instance, Advantra-Z® that may be much more effective. In fact, we believe there are some formulas on the market with pure Hoodia Gordonii combined with Advantra-Z® that have been shown not only to satiate hunger but to also boost metabolism in order to burn fat faster.
