MetaboLife® offers a “two-stage weight management program” that actually comprises of five different dietary supplements and an enriched drink that comes in two flavors. The weight loss supplements appear to be basically Green Tea-based formulas. The purported two-stage program amounts to first losing weight and then ensuring one is getting enough energy to go through life’s daily activities.
We feel that some capsule-based supplements may be helpful when combined with proper diet and exercise, but there are many supplements available today that focus on inferior and inexpensive ingredients rather than choosing truly effective formulas. MetaboLife®, as mentioned above, offers five supplements. They are as follows: MetaboLife Ultra®, MetaboLife® Green Tea, MetaboLife® Caffeine Free, MetaboLife® Break Through and MetaboLife® Extreme Energy. The drink offered by this company, called AquaSlim™, comes in Mixed Berry or Pineapple & Orange flavors. Some of the common ingredients seem to be EGCG from Green Tea, SuperCitriMax®, Guarana Extract and Yerba Mate.

Green Tea is well known for its numerous antioxidants. It has been touted invariably by many weight-loss products as an aid that may increase fat oxidation. It is also said to be a cholesterol lowering ingredient. It has been suggested that it may also work as a diuretic. It is also generally believed that EGCG may work as an antioxidant. However, it may be a far cry to claim that Green Tea may by itself lead to weight loss. Furthermore, Green Tea contains a small amount of Caffeine.
Similarly, Guarana Extract is also a form of Caffeine. As such, the stimulant may energize and boost metabolism. However, it may cause adverse effects like nausea and jitteriness if taken in larger quantities. On the other hand, we appreciate the inclusion of Yerba Mate, an extract from a small tree native to South America. It is widely used to make an infusion considered a socializing and refreshing drink and sometimes as a tea drink. It is believed that Yerba Mate contains Xanthines, which are alkaloids in the same family as Caffeine.
While some of these ingredients may appear commonly in many diet products, we feel that these Caffeine-based ingredients provide only the bare minimum of effectiveness when it comes to diet products.
