Inches-a-Weigh®
1 Introduction & Overview
InchesaWeigh Inches-A-Weigh® is a weight loss clinic that is said to cater specifically to women. These facilities are not only said to provide dieters with fitness and nutrition guidance, but they are also said to provide a spa-like setting and spa services. Currently, there are 57 Inches-a-Weigh® locations throughout the country, all of which are said to have fitness equipment on site. Some of the locations also have personal trainers.

We will take a closer look at the programs promoted by these clinics to determine if they are likely to help women achieve their weight loss goals as advertised.

Centers at a Glance
The Inches-A-Weigh® weight loss centers were founded and launched in 1986 by Scott Simick. It appears that the company has used the same techniques and weight loss methods since its inception, so it may appear outdated to those dieters who would rather tap into programs that are utilizing the latest research.

Each center is said to provide a counseling center, a health-food store and a mini-exercise room.

Centers in Focus
It appears that the diet plan promoted in these facilities is based on popular low-carb theories, which are also said to be very hard to follow. In addition, the center also says that they will address any emotional reasons behind overeating. This weight loss chain used to be billed “for women only,” but now it accepts male clients as well. Unfortunately, some women may be upset that a place once said to be designed for their specific needs is now accepting male clients. Our guess is that the company needed to figure out more way to make money, and opening up the demographic for potential clients probably seemed like a good step.

It may upset some dieters to learn that dieticians and personal trainers are not available at every location. It seems that this company is based on a “condensed concept,” which basically means that each center operates on the bare minimum needed. This includes having the least amount of employees needed, less square footage and bare minimum operational costs.

Diet Lifestyle
We do have to wonder how this condensed concept for business can coincide with high-quality customer, service since it seems that there will not always be enough employees per client. We did come across a few reviews online that complained of poor customer service, and we suspect that this business model may have contributed to these bad reviews. Many consumers would likely be upset if they were being charged high weekly costs and they only had limited access to a personal trainer or Registered Dietician, let alone one of the regular employees.

Speaking of cost, the price of an Inches-A-Weigh® membership does vary upon location and program. The company does operate by charging a weekly membership price and says that most dieters are members for at least one year, which may result in an end price between $1000 and $1500. This end cost along with the other elements of the program may be why it was not chosen to participate in the $1,000 cash giveaway program on this website.

Positives
• Program website posted
• May provide nutrition and fitness advice

Negatives
• Their customers do not like them at all and have negative things to say about their experiences. Click here to read a popular Inches-A-Weigh Blog.
• Program appears to be quite expensive
• Negative reviews found online
• Consumers report that customer service is not always the best
• Program was not selected to partake in prize giveaway program

Final Thoughts
In the end, this program was not one of those selected to partake in the $1000 prize giveaway program on this website. The only reason that such information is significant is because the organizers of this program only selected those plans and products that received the highest accolades from consumers. Based on the reports of poor customer service and the high price, we do not feel that these centers will fit the needs of all dieters. Those people who would like to continue their search for an effective weight loss aid may want to look into a dietary supplement that contains patented and proven ingredients shown to suppress the appetite and boost metabolic rates. Such supplements may be much more effective than an expensive membership to Inches-A-Weigh®.
